Henry was a Chimney Sweep at
HANDSWORTH CHRONICLE 18 May 1889 On Wednesday a Chimney Sweep named
Harry Daintor, living in Jordans Buildings, Birchfield Road, Perry Barr
had three apparently apopletic fits in the third of which he died about
9.45pm Deceased who had previously enjoyed good health is a married man and
leaves a widow, but no family. He was
seen in the road apparently well about 8 pm.
Doctor Lee of
HANDWORTH CHRONICAL 25 May 1889 On Friday an inquest was held
before Edwin Hooper Esq., coroner at the Old Crown an Cushion Inn, Perry
Barr, touching the death of Henry Dainter (34) a chimney sweep, living at
Jordans buildings who died suddenly on the 15th inst., from the
evidence of deceased widow, Mrs Harry Dainter and Mr. Joy chemist, it appears
deceased complained during the previous week of a pain in his side. On the 15th inst., he went to
Mr. Joys shop and complained of want of sleep and headache. Mr. Joy supplied him with a bottle of
medicine, he had had a fit earlier in the day and shortly after 8 pm had two
successive fits and died at 9.45 pm.
Deceased had been a heavy drinker for a number of years, but during
the last few months was a total abstainer.
A verdict of death from “Natural Causes” was returned |
