March 4 1895 Inquest at Perry Barr Mr. Edwin Hooper (Coroner for South Staffordshire)
held an inquest on Friday at the Witton Arms, on the body of John Rushworth
(62) a draper’s assistant, living in lodging at the home of Florence
Marsland, 326, Aston Lane, Perry Barr.
For some years the deceased had suffered from spasmodic asthma. About 9 o’clock one evening shortly before
his death, he called out to his landlady that he was ill. She went to his assistance and afterwards
sent for a Doctor; but though her daughter was searching till close to
Midnight, she was unable to find one. |

shilling per week, and had not given his wife anything because he could not
