I
have a copy of my grandfathers, (David Humphries) birth certificate, September 27, 1894. He was born 117 Hamstead Cottages, Perry Barr.
Don't know where that was but definately Perry Barr, his father was a
coal miner, and his name was Henry Walter Humphries, mother Hannah
Humphries, (formerly Mills). If you have any information on this
family or where the cottages were I would be really interested. I
grew up in Hamstead, my father was also a coalminer in Hamstead,
Colliery, when I married we moved to the Beeches Estate, I love the sight. Any info would be appreciated. I now live in Canada. Jan in Hamilton. * Henry Walter Humphries, married Hannah Mills December Qtr 1889, West Bromwich, Vol 6b, page 1218 My grandfather died March 16 1962. And his ashes were placed in Perry Barr Crem along with my grandmothers who died February 3 1962. My grandfather died in the Beaufort Arms pub in Hamstead while having a drink. |
