Perry Barr - Speedway Track
For many years Speedway Racing was held at Perry Barr, first behind the One Stop Shopping Centre and then it moved to the now Greyhound Stadium. (Due to the problems I have had with my web site of late, I only hope that I haven't inserted the wrong pictures against the wrong names)

Alan Hunt talking to Ron Mountford before the start of the meeting. Alan Hunt who first rode for Cradley Heath, came to Birmingham in 1952, and was eventually made Captain. He was killed on the track in a tragic accident. |

Graham Warren (1952) Graham Warren. Born in Australia.First rode for Birmingham in 1948, then 1949, was made captain in 1950, stayed with Birmingham 1951,1952,1953,lost his form in 1954 & retired but came back again, but came back to Birmingham in 1955 but could not regain his form, so retired from speedway and went back to Australia. |
Arthur Payne Rode for Birmingham.1948, 1949,1950,1951,1952,1953,1954, retired at the end of the 1955 season. |

Doug McLachlan (1948) Doug McLachan rode for Birmingham 1948,1949,and retired at the end of the 1950 season. |
| Geoff Bennett born in Bournville Birmingham, rode for Birmingham,1948,1949,1950 was made captain in 1951, retired at the end of the 1952 season due to being off form. Came back in 1954. Retired at the end of the 1954 season. | Charlie May rode for Birmingham.1948,1949, then got transferred, rode for Cardiff 1952,1953,1954,Then transferred to Oxford to where he rode until the end of 1955, then retired. |
