VHandsworth Herald, 28th April 1900
A great loss has been sustained by the workers in Aston parish by the death from heart failure, of Miss Florence Macquire, the youngster daughter to Hugh H. Macquire of Perry Barr on Monday last. The deceased lady was only twenty-nine years of age, has been frequently connected with Dyson Hall where she was a superintendent of the Sunday School since the institution was built, and the very deepest is
felt by everyone who knew her at the ending of her life.

HANDSWORTH HERALD
Sept 16th 1894.
A dangerous experience – Thomas Moss, eight years of age of Perry Barr was admitted into the General Hospital yesterday morning suffering from severe burns about the face and head. The boy was left in the house by himself, and, for amusement it is believed, picked up a stick and lighted it at the fire. He then found a can containing powder, to
which he applied the lighted stick. The result – quite a natural one, no doubt, was an explosion, and the boy sustained the injuries above mentioned. |
